Our first post

It seems to me that almost everyone has a blog these days. It also seems to me that this is a great way for people to stay in touch and to keep others updated on their lives. That's why Kevin and I have decided to start our own blog. A way for our friends and families to be kept up on our lives. For those of you who just know one of us or the other, let me introduce ourselves.

Sarah was born and raised in Emporia, KS. Since she could remember, she always knew that she was destined to be a Wildcat. In 2006 she graduated from Kansas State University with her BS in Speech Communication (yea, one of those crazy liberal arts degrees). She is now the Shawnee County 4-H/Youth Development Agent. She has a younger brother who plays football for Emporia High School and will be attending West Point Academy this summer/fall. Kevin and I (Sarah, in case you didn't figure it out) try to attend the majority of Andrew's football games. Here he is against Seaman High School Friday night.

If you look closely, you can tell that he is #21 (only if I would have told you). He plays on Special Teams and sometimes a little line backer (yea, he's a bit scrawny, we know!:) )

Kevin was born and raised in Bazine, KS (Where exactly is Bazine again?). He graduated from Bazine High School in 02 and attended Kansas State University as well. He graduated in 07 with his Bachelors and is currently working on his Masters and Jurisdoctorite of Law at Washburn University. Kevin lives just a few blocks from one of his brothers, Tony and his family. It's great to get to see them all of the time!

After a few months of dating, Kevin decided to get a dog. Here she is...

Abbie is a whippet/greyhound mix. We went through some rough times in the beginning, a few pairs of shoes, a shirt or two and who knows what else she ate. We have had her for about two months and she is about a year old. I decided a few weeks ago that Abbie needed a sister. So I came home with...

Maggie or as some people in the house call her, Terd Muffin. Maggie is two and is a poodle, Shitzu mix. This is great because she doesn't shed at all. Now... Maggie does have some bad qualities. Before we talk about those, I should tell you that Maggie is such a great cuddler and she is very patient (more to come on that later!), Maggie has a problem though, she WHINES. All she does is whine, if we leave the room she just cries and cries and cries. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Abbie (the greyhound) does not find this amusing, I think Maggie has forced her to grow up!

Now, before I continue, I do have to share that this blog is about Kevin and I. It is not about our dogs (hence why I wouldn't let Kevin call it the "Dog Blog"). We don't want to be "those" people, whatever that means.

So this is our 'family' we hope that you enjoy reading about our lives as we begin a new chapter!
